6 cups canola or olive oil
1 ounce finely ground cannabis buds or
2 ounces dried and ground trimmed leaves
Slowly heat the oil in a double boiler over low heat for a few minutes until you can smell the aroma. Slowly add the ground cannabis, stirring until it is completely coated before adding more. Simmer for 45 minutes on low heat, stirring regularly.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool before straining. To extract all of the oil from the plant matter, wring it out using the back of a spoon.
After composting the leafy leftovers, put the oil in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Good for up to 2 months.
