Greetings to you all on this beautiful Monday and I hope you are all doing great, it is my pleasure to share with you today the cutting and sewing process of this lovely short I made for a little boy with elastic waist band, it is one of the things I hav been wanted to try out but unfortunately the opportunity didn't come until fewdays ago that I had to make some outfit from some of the fabric I was given. I will be showing you below the cutting and sewing process.
This idea cae as a result of the limited fabric I had with me, initially,I was supposed make a long trouser bu unfortunately fabric was not enough so I decided to make a short instead of a long trouser, though tis is my first attempt of makia short for a little boy with side pockets and I'm glad the outcome was really nice. Before now, I have been making top and trouser outfit for adults with elastic waist band, all I needed to do is to follow same step with the measurements I had with me and the end result was just perfect.
I folded the fabric in two to cut out the front part of the short, I marked the waist circumference 20รท4= 5 plus 2" that's 7 it was marked on the fabric with the crouch of 7" as well, I added 2" on th top of the waist line for the elastic casing then the full length of the short 12" was marked with 2" folding allowance
The front part was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the back with 2" extra at the side for ease and seam allowance
I took 1 piece from the front and 1 piece from the back as well and it was sewn together with the side pockets and hem with the 2" allowance
The same process was repeated on the other side as well before the two were sewn together at the crouch
I folded in the excess on the waist for the elastic casing an I inserted an elastic band of 16" into the waist line and this is the final outcome
I hope you like the beautiful outcome of this short I mad for a little boy with elastic waist band and side pockets.
