Greetings to you all on this beautiful day I hope you are doing well and having a good time with your creativity, it is my pleasure to share with you today the in this great community the making of this simple and appreciated hand made reversible hair bonnet for my friend as an holiday gift.
Schools are presently on holiday and my friend as as teacher with her children decided to pay her mother a visit to spend the holiday with her, she contacted me that she will be traveling this week. I thought of giving her a gift but what else can I give than to make a hand made items for her, I decided to make this reversible hair bonnet for her and it is well appreciated even more than expected.
I made this reversible hair bonnet from 2 colors of left over satin fabric from my previous project with an elastic band which can be worn either way as desired, after sewing, I had to try both sides on to see to beautiful the outcome is.
From each satin fabric, I measured and cut out a circle with 12" diameter
Both fabric were placed together right side on right side and it was sewn together round leaving an opening where it can be turned to the right side
After sewing, it was turned to the right side through the opening and it was neatly ironed
From the tip of the circle, I measured 1.5" and it was sewn round
From the tip of the circle, I measured 1" and I started sewing from the opening round to the other side of the opening to make a loop
I measured an elastic band of 18" and inserted it in the loop and it was secured together at both end.
Finally, I used my hand needle and thread to sew the opening with an invisible stitch and this is the final outcome
This is a simple gift I gave to my friend for her journey and it was well appreciated when delivered, this hair bonnet can be worn either way the blue or pink side.
See how beautiful it looks on me when i tried it on, which do you prefer, the blue or pink?
