Since the beginning of last month, i have decided to reduce the piece of left over fabric I got from my previous project, these fabric keep increasing day by day that I sometimes ago , I had thought of burning them but on a second thought I realized it is not eco friendly so to reduce these pieces of scraps fabric, I decided to start making beautiful and useful items for myself and also giving them a second chance, so far I have been able to make some items which I gave out to people around me and it was well appreciated, now I have demand of same item by other people who saw the items I made. I'm so glad I was able to make useful items for people from the fabric that I would disposed. Today i will be sharing with you the creative design of this colorful fabric coaster made from some of my scrap fabric and I'm sure you will like the beautiful outcome.
First thing I did was to cut out a warden measuring 7" for the diameter
I brought out some of those scrap fabric and measured 2" of different lengths
I took 2 pieces and sew it together on the warden at the center line on my sewing machine
It was opened up and this is how it looks
The same process was repeated on the other side until the circle was covered up with different pieces
I trimmed off the excess on the edge and I placed i on a lining to cut out same shape
The lining was sewn on the right side of the fabric, and it was sewn on the wrong side, i left an opening where it can be turned to the right side after sewing
It was sewn and turned to the right side through the opening I left after which it was top stitched round on the main fabric and this is the final outcome
I have my glass cup on it as you can see how beautiful and colorful the final outcome is.
There's a lot you can do with your left over fabric instead of disposing them, this is so easy to make, simple and useful.
