Happy weekend to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you are doing great wherever you are, the most important thing is to always be safe when having great time out there. Today I will be sharing with you the making of this simple and easy wallet with 3 pockets for safe keeping of cards and cash made form a piece of fabric.
Sometimes we over look this little items thinking it's something very difficult to achieve, but as I have taken it as a project to make use of those heap of scraps fabric I have to make beautiful and useful items, I decided to try out some of this project to see the outcome and trust me, they are easy and simple to make even more than I can imagine. You can as well follow my step by step process to achieve this simple wallet below.
To start with, I measured and cut out a piece of fabric measuring 9x14"
On the bottom right side, I measured 4x2.5" and it was cut out
At the bottom left side, I measured 4x3" and it was cut out
At the top of the right side, I measured and cut out 4x3.5"
Lastly on the top of the left side, I measured and cut out 4x3"
It was placed on an interfacing which was ironed on it and was cut out with lining after I had made curve at the top
It was taken to the sewing machine where it was sewn round on the wrong side leaving an opening at the bottom for it to be turned to the right side
It was sewn and turned to the right side through the opening and was neatly ironed
I took the pieces to the sewing machine to top stitched on the opening
Then I started to fold from the right and followed by the left side which was folded on the right hand side
Finally, I sew on both sides and top stitched on the top which serves as the flip cover.
I marked the center at the top and used my hand needle and thread to fix a press button on both sides to secure the items in it.
This is the finished project as I placed my card and cash in each pocket.
It was finally secured by the press button and this is final outcome.
I hope you like this project, join me i my next post as I will be sharing with you beautiful crafts.
