Update on my husbands garden-More of his favorite vegetables
It's been a while since the last time I posted about the garden of my husband. His garden is not doing well especially it's rainy season here in the Philippines. Pests are attacking his plants.
He is happy that he got more of his favorite vegetables. After removing his eggplants he planted Okra(Lady Finger) and Cucumber. That's two of his favorite vegetables but those vegetables are not my type of vegetables. I just don't like eating them. He even removed some of his string beans and bitter gourd plants as they were not growing well anymore.
He was a bit sad a few days ago after seeing one of his tomato plants was been attacked by fungus on its roots. He felt sad because it already had fruits but he had no other choice but to remove them so it won't contaminate the other plants next to it.
After removing the damaged tomato plants he is now happy to see his other tomatoes bearing fruits and have his first harvest and sell them at the market. He also harvested his sword peppers. For me, tomatoes and sword peppers are good plants to grow if you want to sell some of them since they grow faster and bear more fruits more often. I just feel sad because one of his sword pepper plants died after he pruned it. I guess he cut too much of the branches of the plant. I just remember how that sword pepper plant grows so well with lots of leaves and fruits on it. I think the husband should consider learning the proper way of pruning the plants so it won't happen again. I guess some plants are sensitive.
On the other hand, we still have our upland kangkong ready to harvest yet I always forget to harvest them.
Our pechay is growing well too. For sure our neighbors would love to buy our fresh and organic pechay just like the last time they purchased from us.
We are also waiting for our bell peppers to bear fruit. We can see some flowers now. Hubby is happy to see them growing well as he always water them with human urine mix water that's why they grow healthier now.
Hubby was busy the past weeks since he had to harvest rice. It was the season for harvesting rice in our place and he grabbed the chance to help harvest rice so we could save and we will not buy rice anymore.
Even if he was busy in the daytime he always found time to check on his garden or sometimes I was the one who watered his plants.
As much as I wanted to help him in his garden I have lots of household chores to do that's why I only help him whenever I have vacant time.
Gardening really needs your time and effort that's why I still haven't pursued my plan of having my flower garden since I am too busy right now. Hopefully one day I can find time to have my own flower garden so I can share it here soon. I do love flowers yet I am picky on what flowers I want to grow.
That's all for today's blog. I hope you enjoy seeing the mini garden of my husband and how he manages to take care of his garden despite being busy with other stuff.
