Bell pepper
It's been two months after hubby planted his first batch of red bell peppers. First, he tried to plant it along the road. He then noticed that it didn't grow well so he decided to plant another batch in a different area of our house which is the side part of our house. He noticed that the second batch grew faster and healthier than the other batch. He always waters them with human urine mixed with water. After waiting for two months we finally them bearing more fruits. Some of the themes are still blooming with flowers and one of them didn’t have more branches and leaves yet it managed to bear fruits. Hubby said he is excited to have his first harvest of his bell peppers.
Pechay
A few days ago I shared here that hubby had to remove all the soil from all the pots where he planted his pechay. Hopefully, the pests won’t attack them especially since it’s rainy season now.
Tomatoes
It’s almost harvest time again with his tomatoes as we can see some of them are getting ripe already. Since we don’t use any chemicals on our plants and fruits it is very obvious with our tomatoes as you can see some black spots on the fruit of it. I guess all of the tomatoes you can see in the market are glossy with perfect no dents skin on it. For sure they are using chemicals to spray their tomatoes so pests won’t attack them.
Anyways hubby had to remove the lemon grass and oregano near the tomato plants because of all the small snails staying in the leaves of the lemon grass and oregano. I told hubby to plant the lemon grass and oregano somewhere else in our backyard.
Lady’s finger (Okra)
Okra is my husband's favorite vegetable. Now we can see flowers blooming and some fruits on it soon ready to harvest. Hubby is excited to have his first harvest of his okra plants. He loves steamed okra but okra is not my type of vegetable. I love how healthy his okra plants and how big is the leaves on it. I told him to prune them soon.
Cucumber
This is the second attempt of my husband on planting cucumber. The first time he tried growing them was attacked by pests and nothing was left. Now he tried to plant again and hopefully, soon we can see its fruit as we can see it’s already blooming flowers.
He also planted another batch of cucumber in the upper part of his garden hoping that it would grow healthier yet we can see that the pests are slowly attacking its leaves.
Bitter gourd
Like the cucumber hubby also tried to plant bitter gourd in a pot and it didn’t grow well yet we got some fruits from it but hubby had to remove it as it was obvious that it wouldn’t grow healthier anymore so I told him to plant it on the ground. Just like the cucumber the bitter gourd is planted near the Okra plants and as we can see it is hard for us to see how it grows since it’s been covered by the big leaves of the okra plants. We are still hopeful that it will grow better this time and soon we can see it blooming with flowers too like the cucumber.
Spring Onions
We have spring onions planted on the pots and some of them are planted on the ground. Hubby needs to plant them whenever he sees some space for them like in between our two sword peppers. Some of it is planted near the Okra plants too or near the eggplant. Then I told hubby to harvest and sell them but he told me that he intended to plant them near the other plants as the Spring onion acts as an insect repellant I guess he is with what he believes because based on my research it is the onion mix with water and spray it to the plants that act as an insect repellant.
Eggplants
We had lots of eggplants before but now we only have five eggplants. This is the second time hubby planted eggplants. Since he plants it on the side where we know that it won’t grow healthier, we can really compare the first batch of our eggplants to the eggplants he planted now. We can see its blooming flowers and have some fruits of it yet it’s way different from the first time he planted eggplants.
Chili and Sword pepper
Hubby got this chili plant given by his mom. At first, all he knew was it was a bell pepper plant but I told him I guess it was not because I noticed the difference of its leaves. It has light green and thin leaves. Now that we have seen some flowers and it already bears fruits I can really say it's not a bell pepper. I am not sure of its variety as its fruit is not dark green but it’s only light green. I thought it was the spicy kind of chili that we called siling kulikot.
Moreover, we still have our sword pepper plants only of the two original plants are left because the other one has died after hubby cut its branches.
We still another two sword pepper plants and I guess they are almost dying or what we call in our dialect “Dugnas” means it is almost time for them to stop bearing fruits. We can still see some fruits of it but it’s not that abundant like before.
Ginger
First I had this ginger planted in an old chamber yet hubby used that chamber to plant some of his spring onions before so he decided to transfer the ginger onto the ground. I can it’s growing well based on the abundant leaves on it yet I am not sure if it has lots of ginger under the soil. Well as I know we can only harvest ginger twice a year. I already forgot how long it had been planted. I guess I need to check my old articles here since I shared them here when the time I planted that ginger.
Lemon
Hubby planted four lemons in our front yard then he added four on the other side of our yard. Last Saturday when hubby cleaned our yard he accidentally cut one of his growing lemons.I never tried planting or growing my own lemons in my whole life so I am excited to see them bearing fruits soon.
Horseradish(Malunggay)
Malunggay is very common in our place. We started planting this kind of vegetables even before we stayed in our house. It suppose to be three malunggay tree yet two of them died of nowhere so we only have one malunggay tree left. I remember how our neighbors will ask for our malunggay leaves since it has healthy and green leaves as we always water them with human urine mix with water.
Kangkong
Kangkong is one of my favorite vegetables. Hubby still planted another batch of upland kangkong so we can have it whenever we want it. It's planted on an old basin.
Seedlings
Hubby has pechay seedlings and cucumber seedlings. He wanted to have it ready whenever one of his plants will not grow well or maybe it will eaten by worms or snails.
