Selling sword pepper, tomatoes and eggplant fresh from our garden
It's been more than 3 months since hubby started planting whatever available seeds. Hubby started planting from one tomato plant to two tomato plants and now we have more tomato plants at home.
These are the good ones
These one is what we called reject or not in good shape
Last night hubby decided to harvest the available tomatoes because we have lots of them and we can't consume them all. Hubby was also trying to save the tomatoes from the insects and worms because it's rainy season here in our place.
Hubby sells them at the public market near our place and sold it for 128 pesos.
I was the one who tries to grow our own sword pepper plant at home. My mom gave me one ripe sword pepper, and she told me to try growing it. Honestly, I didn't expect that the seeds will grow because I wasn't paying attention to it and I just let the seeds grow in the pot where I grow ginger. Out of all the seeds, only two survive and grow healthier. I then transferred them into different pots. As time goes by it grows healthier and produces more sword pepper. After more than a month of having the sword pepper hubby decided to transfer it to the ground because he needed more pots for his spring onion. We taught that it will stop producing sword peppers because it looks like it was not growing healthier. But then hubby discovered a fertilizer that helps the plant grow healthier and it will produce more sword peppers. Since then it grows bigger and healthier and it produces a lot of sword peppers.
Last night hubby also decided to harvest some of them so we can sell them since we can't consume all of them. I was the one who sell it today here at the Public market where I work. I sold it for 37 pesos.
We started planting eggplants at home two months ago and we already tried to harvest two of them and have them as our food. But since we can consume all of them so we decided to sell if ever someone wanted to buy. One of our neighbors drop by our house and wanted to buy four pieces of eggplant. We didn't name the price because we are not into business we just wanted them to give whatever amount they want. So for four pieces of eggplants, they paid us 30 pesos. As I know the price per kilo of eggplant in the market is usually around 60 pesos. Since we have long and bigger sizes of eggplants I guess 30 pesos is enough for four pieces of eggplants.
Last night hubby harvested our eggplants because some of it was been eaten by worms. He just gave some of the good ones to one of our neighbors who pass by our house this morning.
Hopefully one day we can have more plants and vegetables at home that we can make as one of our sources of income. Planting or growing our own vegetables at home helps us save from buying everything at the market.
That's all for today's blog. I hope you enjoyed reading it. Thank you for taking the time to read it. God bless us all.
