I have only two kids and they are both born in the same month. My eldest daughter was born on June 13, 2007, and her younger brother was born on June 25, 2020.
Since we are not fans of having big celebrations we opted to buy a cake for my son's birthday and prepared some bam-i (mixed canton noodles and bihon noodles). Our original plan was to cook the recipe and then distribute it to our neighbors, but my husband decided to invite our neighbors.
Yesterday was my day off. I suppose to wash my laundry early in the morning but then we didn't have a water supply early in the morning so I decided to do something else while waiting for the water. The water supply was available around 10:30 am so I started my laundry before they will turn off the water. Since I was a lot of laundry I feel tired after.
It was already launch time when I finished my laundry. After eating lunch I decided to take some rest and sleep. So hubby was just the one who prepare the recipe for the birthday celebration.
He cooks chicken adobo, native chicken soup, and bam-i(mixed canton noodles and bihon noodles). As much as I wanted to help him but I feel so tired and my back is aching.
Hubby cooks the chicken adobo first then the bam-i and lastly the native chicken soup.
Since I was sleeping so I didn't get the chance to take pictures of the preparation and cooking time of each recipe.
I decided to get up around 5 pm and help prepare the plates, spoons, forks, and glasses needed.
Guests are slowly coming into our house around 6 o'clock. The food was ready yet we still need more drinks. Since it was not in the plan to buy more drinks so I told my husband to buy powdered juice so we can have drinks, especially for the kids. We are honestly on a tight budget so we don't have enough money for the said celebration.
Here are the photos of the food for the simple birthday celebration of my son.
Of course, this is what makes kids happy so I bought him a smiley cake
The food and the recycled decoration. It was the decoration from my daughter's birthday celebration last June 13.
Here are the foods that we had for everyone. The bam-i or noodles, chicken adobo cut into small pieces, the whole chicken adobo, rice, soft drinks, and the cake. The native chicken soup is not included in the pic as hubby was still cooking it when the time I captured this photo.
We didn't expect that a lot of people (30 pax) will arrive coz we only invited our nearest neighborhood, luckily the food was just enough for everyone. I didn't get the chance to capture all our guests as I was busy at that time.
I am happy that the celebration was successful and that we were able to make our son happy on his birthday.
He also received an advance birthday gift from my generous aunt.
He really enjoyed his new toys.
That would be all for today. I hope you all have a great day and thanks for reading my article. God bless!
