At least I know if SHTF that perhaps there would be enough life even in the rough winter months to hunt and forage..
The walnut tree out front dropped a ton of walnuts this past fall, so I know those buggers are fattening up. Made their work easy, matter of fact, as I pick them all up and dump them in a single spot, perhaps a several thousand or so walnuts.. making it easy for them to find and survive the winter i would believe.
I always thought squirrels hibernated anyway..
