"Not every coffee is a time for deep conversation. And I'm thankful for that!"
Hello there, coffee lovers!
A few weeks ago while walking alongside @octocel at the mall, we met one of her cousins. She invited him over to stay with us until he had to go to a different place. We got to talk about many things during that time. A lot of them were related to work stuff. Some of them were about other different topics.
One of the interesting things we had during the conversation was about some courses people are taking in order to learn certain skills. @octocel mentioned her compilation of courses from different YouTube channels and other pages that are an interesting way to practice and learn more about illustration. Her cousin also draws and is learning more about it.

I met him long ago while I was still at college. It was during my first teaching job. He was the kind of quiet student that is always ready when called upon a task. That's a nice way to be in a classroom, but not every student is like that. Teaching him was like going round in a cycle. One of their aunts taught me during my Elementary School years and then at College. It seems life always finds a way to roll back onto itself. It is a funny coincidence.
On some other related topics, we talked a bit about videogames. That seems to be a common ground to have some small talk. Although we didn't get too much into the things since the conversation was dominated by the idea of studying drawing and other related things.
We did ended going for coffee to have a better place to talk and ordered some sweet treats to go along the beverage. The usual "bomba" (a fried dough with a custard filling and dusted sugar on top) and a "palmerita" (fried flaky dough in the shape of a heart. This one had a chocolate topping). Even when we insisted the cousin to take some of the treat, he didn't. I don't know if out of shyness of what. Maybe he was already embarrassed of being dragged into what was supposed to be a date.
It didn't matter at the end. We finished our coffee and kept talking for quite some time until one of us came with the idea of going to the rooftop and sit to take take some photos under the golden hour lighting. And while we were at it, he had to leave.
I'm not going to lie. It was a weird day. Even a weirder date, but it wasn't too bad. Most of the time, I just sit and listen to what people say. I think it is something that makes them nervous. However, it is a good way to understand and get an idea of how to talk back. The best part is that I get to do it with coffee and a sweet treat to enjoy my time.
