It's been a while since my last entry. Week 70 was a long time ago. But since I've been rearranging the topics for my blog. A video for #openmic was due. This time without my trusty mandolin, Bri.

Ha pasado un tiempo desde mi última participación. Aquella semana 70 está muy lejos. Pero desde que reorganicé los contenidos de mi blog, sabía que tenía pendiente un video para #openmic. En esta ocasión sin la vieja y confiable mandolina, Bri.

As usual, this event gives us a topic to helps us narrow down the song selection. This week's topic is Prejudice. Those stand for all the fixed notion that have been carried on by groups of people about thing in general. They are generally rooted on stereotypes. Going against them takes time and an open mind. And it's seldom an easy task.

Como ya es costumbre, se nos proporciona un tema para hacer que la selección de canciones sea más fácil. En esta ocasión el tema es Prejuicio. Estos son todas las ideas que se sosteniendo por creencias y crianza. Básicamente están fundadas en estereotipos. Tratar de vencerlos es un trabajo arduo que requiere de una mente abierta y disposición para aprender.

My choice for song in this opportunity is Las Brumas del Mar, a Venezuelan Waltz by composer Balbino García. It is a simple song with s beautiful melody. But in its lyrics we have a misconception about love. This is another kind of prejudice. Not the best way to understand the idea, but it will do. Long story short, a guy thought a woman loved him but it was a lie. He was hurt and that's the whole deal.

Mi elección para esta ocasión es Las Brumas del Mar, un cama venezolano del compositor Balbino García. Este posee una melodía simple y hermosa. En su letra, incluye una idea errónea del amor. Algo que podría ser considerado un Prejuicio. "Cuando de pronto creí poseer tu amor platónico, ingrata mujer. Le diste a otro de tu amor la calma, dejando en mi alma una herida cruel". A ese fragmento hago referencia con la idea del Prejuicio.
