Well... I think I've been puttin gthis job off for nearly a full year now! Tidying up and cleaning the garage... there was so much concrete dust and just crap everywhere on the floor due to the re-mortaring of the house (this is where they stored the concrete bags and tools and everything...)... Plus, the yearly accumulation of crap and stuff... and the inefficient storage of everything... well, we were just running out of room and my wife was running out of patience.
So, in the interests of staying alive and being allowed to stay in the house overnight... I thought it would be a good idea to finally tidy up the garage. Moving the bikes and everything into a much more tidy Tetris like arrangement! It appears to have worked, as there is much more space now! Which is perfect, as we have a new arrival coming in the week... an ELECTRIC ASSISTED BIKE (e-fiets for short...) which we finally bought on the weekend, to be delivered later this week.
It's going to be great, as it really makes riding around in the longer distances much more manageable... for my wife, which means that I get to use the car to pick up the kids... instead of lugging around the truck bike on the long long rides into Den Haag... leaving me completely pooped!
Seeing as I was already out and not doing much else with my afternoon... and it wasn't too windy... I figured I would rake up the leaves in the common driveway and park spaces. A huge huge huge pile of leaves to get about 30 metres to the actual road side curb... so, lots of sweeping and hoping that the famous Dutch wind wouldn't just send it all back at me...
However, today, luck was on my side... and I managed to get the leaves all to the curb in time for the vacuum machine from the council tomorrow. Unless they all blow back overnight... in which case, I'm investing in a flamethrower.
