Happy and blessed week friends of @holos-lotus , July is about to end and the school vacation period begins, I wish that the month of August comes loaded with many blessings for each home, that the plans and goals that have not yet been specified can become reality; this is my entry for the initiativeos Confess: You also talk to yourself! -And it can be a good symptom of great creativity, I found the title funny, I confess, yes I talk to myself, I consider talking to myself a therapy, which on many occasions has helped me to encourage and motivate myself,during a sewing course module the instructor explained how to make a hooded sweater and showed the one she had made, I really liked the sweater and said: _how beautiful! It seems easy to make, with the fabric I have at home I will make one this weekend for my son, one of my classmates heard me and told the instructor what I had said, I didn't say it so they would hear me, I was talking to myself, in a few minutes I already had the pattern in my hands and the commitment to bring the homework on Monday, when I tried to speak to explain, the instructor said; _don't worry, you can do it, I'm sure it will look spectacular, I was a little scared and wanted to complain to the girl who informed her about my plans to make a sweater for my son, after thinking about it I decided to take on the challenge and do it as best as possible.
I arrived home very excited and with many ideas to make the sweater, in class I had understood the whole process of elaboration, or at least that was what I thought, I looked for the fabrics, marked and cut all the pieces and I got to work, I assembled the sweater, I glued the sleeves and pocket, up to there everything was fine, the difficulty came when gluing the hood, I had never made a sweater like that before and I tried to glue the hood like a collar and obviously it didn't work, I unstitched several times and when I was about to give up, I said to myself: -you can do it! you just need to find a way to attach the hood, it shouldn't be that difficult, I put away the sweater and left it for the next day, I carefully reviewed my notes, read them several times and to be sure I called the instructor and told her that I had difficulty attaching the hood, I also told her about my notes and broadly explained how I thought I would attach it according to my notes, she with her characteristic smile said: -_exactly that's right, you can even put a lining on it, I thanked her for her time and resumed my task, I couldn't believe that something so simple had caused me so much stress, when I saw the finished sweater I felt very happy and satisfied, it was worth the effort and the self-motivation of not giving up, talking to myself paid off haha.
I regularly talk out loud when I cook, saying, "I've done this, I need that, now I need to cut the vegetables, the meat, etc." It's a way to keep track of the things I'm preparing. When I add salt, I also tell myself "I've already added salt," or "I need a little more," and so on. It's a habit I have to keep track of what I'm doing.
Another time I also talk to myself is during sewing projects. When I'm about to start a project, I tell myself what I'm going to do: I have to sew this way, sew a straight stitch, fold, and more. On many occasions, I've found myself talking to the sewing machine, explaining that it's a long project and I need it to help me finish it. Some people think talking to myself is a sign of madness or illness, but personally, I see it as normal and necessary.
Yesterday when I started writing the post I remembered that at university the professor who taught the psychology subject recommended us to speak in front of the mirror out loud to practice our presentations, this way we could get an idea of how our voice sounded and if we could project it so that other classmates could hear what we were saying, another exercise that he also recommended was to practice in a closed space free of noise, this would allow us to hear our own voice and correct if we are speaking too loud or too soft, this exercise is really interesting, he suggested that the more closed and quiet the space the better because we could hear our own breathing, in fact in a course we took we did this exercise and it's incredible how we can listen to our own breathing, he always argued that we pay more attention and listen to others and not to ourselves, by listening to ourselves we can evaluate how we are speaking, how our voice is projected and how far it reaches, I think talking to yourself is a way of reflecting or thinking out loud.
I appreciate the invitation from my friend @hylene74 and extend it to
@evelin71 and
@annafenix.
@evelin71 y
@annafenix.
隆Bendiciones!
Blessings!
