Hello friends lovers of threads and needles, I wish you an excellent and blessed week, I am happy to share with you my latest sewing project; a flannel for my nephew Aaron, this spoiled of the aunts and grandmother has already turned one year old and needs bigger clothes is impressive how fast time passes and how he has grown, I made for him a flannel in micro peach fabric 180 that has become one of my favorites for its softness and freshness especially for the hot season or drought in the country.
At the time of cutting the flannel pieces I only used minions printed fabric, then I thought it would have too much yellow and decided to make the sleeves and collar in black rib fabric which is also cool, I was not very sure about using black because babies usually wear light colors, but I tried pinning the sleeves and I loved the result, the flannel looks great and the print stands out.
Hola amigos amantes de los hilos y las agujas, les deseo una excelente y bendecida semana, me siento feliz de compartir con ustedes mi más reciente proyecto de costura; una franela para mi sobrino Aarón, este consentido de las tías y la abuela ya cumplió un año y necesita ropa más grande es impresionante lo rápido que pasa el tiempo y como ha crecido, hice para el una franela en tela micro durazno 180 que se ha convertido en una de mis favoritas por su suavidad y frescura especial para la temporada de calor o sequía en el país.
Al momento de cortar las piezas de la franela solo usé tela estampada de los minions, luego pensé que tendría mucho amarillo y decidí hacer las mangas y el cuello en tela rib negra que es también fresca, no estaba muy segura de usar negro porque generalmente los bebés usan colores claros, pero probé a colocar las mangas con alfileres y me encantó el resultado, la franela se ve muy bien y el estampado resalta.
For this project I used the following materials:

I started by cutting the back and front, the sleeves and a bias or strip for the neck, I faced the back and front and joined at the shoulders with a straight stitch.
La elaboración de esta franela fue bastante sencilla y en poco tiempo, inicié cortando el trasero y delantero, las mangas y un sesgo o tira para el cuello, enfrenté trasero y delantero y uní por los hombros con puntada recta.
The next step was to glue the sleeves, as I used fabrics of different elongation I joined the sleeves from one end to the other sewing slowly to prevent the fabrics from stretching when passing through the presser foot, this way the fabrics match very well and a good finish is obtained.
El siguiente paso fue pegar la mangas, como usé telas de diferente elongación uní las mangas desde un extremo al otro cosiendo lento para evitar que las telas estiren al pasar por el prensa telas, de esta forma las telas coinciden muy bien y se obtiene un buen acabado.
Once the sleeves were attached, I closed the sides with a straight stitch and double stitched.
Pegadas las mangas, cerré los laterales con puntada recta y pasé costura doble.
To make the collar, I joined the bias binding at the ends, turned over and zig zag stitched the edges, pinned the bias binding to the collar and sewed with straight stitch, then zig zag stitch to make the bias binding firmer.
Para hacer el cuello uní el sesgo por los extremos, volteé cosí con zig zag los bordes, sujeté con alfileres el sesgo al cuello cosí con puntada recta, luego zig zag para darle más firmeza al sesgo.
I sewed a hem of one centimeter around the contour of the bottom, in the same way I sewed a hem on the sleeves, with these simple steps the flannel is finished and ready for Aaroncito to be warm and handsome heh, heh.
El ruedo lo hice cosiendo un dobladillo de un centímetro por todo el contorno de la parte inferior, de igual forma cosí u dobladillo en las mangas, con estos sencillos pasos la franela está terminada y lista para que Aaroncito este abrigado y guapo je, je.
I liked the result of the flannel, definitely the black sleeves was the best combination for this fabric, I hope Aaroncito feels very cool and comfortable with his new flannel.
Me gustó el resultado de la franela, definitivamente las mangas de color negro fue la mejor combinación para esta tela, espero que Aaroncito se sienta muy fresco y cómodo con su nueva franela.
