This time, I’m sharing a simple recipe for making pizza—a favorite food for both kids and adults. In my country, it’s classified as fast food, right alongside hamburgers, hot dogs, and loaded fries; it’s sold in many shops and at the famous "calle del hambre" (food streets), where numerous stalls offer these kinds of dishes. These spots serve as family gathering places, especially on days when you don't feel like cooking and want to enjoy a delicious meal out. This post is my entry for the Qurator's: Hive Top Chef! | The Food Memory contest.
This particular food brings back many childhood memories involving the famous animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as the characters were constantly eating pizza. For years, I associated pizza with the show's characters; like many other kids, I felt that eating pizza was a way of supporting the series and made me feel like a strong Ninja Turtle ready to fight against evil. En esta ocasión, comparto una receta sencilla para preparar pizza, una comida favorita tanto de niños como de adultos. En mi país, se clasifica como comida rápida, al igual que las hamburguesas, los perros calientes y las papas fritas cargadas; se vende en muchos locales y en las famosas "calles del hambre", donde numerosos puestos ofrecen este tipo de platos. Estos lugares sirven como puntos de encuentro familiar, especialmente en esos días en los que no apetece cocinar y se quiere disfrutar de una comida deliciosa fuera de casa. Esta comida en particular me trae muchos recuerdos de la infancia relacionados con la famosa serie animada Las Tortugas Ninja, ya que los personajes comían pizza constantemente. Durante años, asocié la pizza con los personajes de la serie; al igual que muchos otros niños, sentía que comer pizza era una forma de apoyar el programa y me hacía sentir como una fuerte Tortuga Ninja, lista para luchar contra el mal. Mozzarella cheese (450 g)

PROCEDURE
The first step was to put the flour in a bowl; then, I added a cup of water and mixed it until I had a smooth dough.

El primer paso fue poner la harina en un bowl; luego, añadí una taza de agua y mezclé hasta obtener una masa homogénea y suave.
Next, I transferred the dough to the work surface, dusted it with flour, divided it into two portions, and rolled it out; I also grated the cheese.
A continuación, pasé la masa a la superficie de trabajo, la espolvoreé con harina, la dividí en dos porciones y la estiré; también rallé el queso.
Once the dough was rolled out, I placed it on a previously floured tray, added the sauce, and spread it with a kitchen brush until the surface was fully covered.
Una vez estirada la masa, la coloqué sobre una bandeja previamente enharinada, añadí la salsa y la extendí con una brocha de cocina hasta cubrir toda la superficie.
To finish, I added the mozzarella cheese, followed by a little oregano and the pepperoni. I placed it in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and baked it for 10 minutes, then removed it and let it cool.
Para terminar, añadí el queso mozzarella, seguido de un poco de orégano y el pepperoni. La metí en el horno precalentado a 180 grados y la horneé durante 10 minutos; luego la saqué y dejé que se enfriara.
I sliced the pizza, and it was ready to be enjoyed as a delicious dinner. Pizza is the perfect meal for switching up the menu at home and sharing with family and friends; it also brings back memories of my childhood and the famous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.
