La conducta humana tiene sus complejidades, nada puede darse por cierto ni por verdadero aunque hay cosas que tampoco puedan negarse.

La vida es cien por ciento diversidad, cada vida tiene un historia propia que no se parece a ninguna otra. Decía mi madre, la vida es como un matrimonio, algunos nacieron con estrellas, otras simplemente estrellados. El significado real al que mi madre se refería era que algunos matrimonios perduran toda la vida mientras que otros duran poco. En el caso de la vida unas suelen ser llevaderas otras en cambio se convierten en tormentas y huracanes.

Human behavior has its complexities, nothing can be taken for certain or true, although there are some things that cannot be denied.

Life is one hundred percent diversity, each life has its own story that is unlike any other. My mother used to say, life is like a marriage, some are born with stars, others are simply starry-eyed. The real meaning my mother was referring to was that some marriages last a lifetime while others are short-lived. In the case of life, some are usually bearable, others turn into storms and hurricanes.

Hablemos hoy de la pena en el alma como tormenta de la vida. Pena en una de sus acepciones refiere la imposición de un castigo luego de haberse cometido un delito. A nivel sentimental también obtiene un significado; la pena que embarga el alma del ser humano se traduce en tristeza. Tener pena en el alma es imponer tristeza y melancolia, en un sentido profundo puede significar vivir condenado al dolor o al sufrimiento.

Cuando perdemos a un familiar muy cercano, la madre por ejemplo o un hijo, el luto nos envuelve, la tristeza nos apaga, la pena en el alma nos condena. Quizá este ejemplo nos hace ver la realidad tangible del significado de la pena pero, hay penas que posiblemente no son tan fáciles de visualizar.

Let us speak today of sorrow in the soul as a storm of life. Sorrow in one of its meanings refers to the imposition of a punishment after having committed a crime. At a sentimental level it also has a meaning; the sorrow that overwhelms the soul of the human being is translated into sadness. To have sorrow in the soul is to impose sadness and melancholy, in a deep sense it can mean to live condemned to pain or suffering.

When we lose a very close relative, a mother for example, or a child, mourning envelops us, sadness turns us off, grief in the soul condemns us. Perhaps this example makes us see the tangible reality of the meaning of grief, but there are griefs that may not be so easy to visualize.

La pena nos condena de manera perpetua. La pena puede actuar silenciosamente. Cuando no podemos expresar emociones, estamos condenados a la pena del alma.

En mis momentos reflexivos he creído que la pena se vincula con la conciencia. La pena por un delito se paga con cárcel. La pena del alma por duelo se paga con tristeza, pero la pena del alma cuando se asocia a la conciencia ha de ser lo más cruel para el ser humano.

A veces sucede que estás obligado a guardar silencio, un secreto muy grande no puede ser revelado, al menos eso creemos, quisiéramos decir tantas cosas pero no podemos, nos guardamos las palabras a tal punto de condenar nuestra conciencia y el alma ¿Qué logramos?

Grief condemns us perpetually. Grief can act silently. When we cannot express emotions, we are condemned to grief of the soul.

In my reflective moments I have believed that grief is linked to conscience. Grief for a crime is paid for with jail. The sorrow of the soul for bereavement is paid with sorrow, but the sorrow of the soul when it is associated with conscience must be the cruelest thing for the human being.

Sometimes it happens that you are forced to keep silent, a very big secret cannot be revealed, at least we think so, we would like to say so many things but we cannot, we keep the words to such an extent that we condemn our conscience and the soul, what do we achieve?

A mi juicio, no deberíamos vivir condenados por la consciencia. La pena en el alma acabaría arruinando nuestras vidas. Posiblemente este sea uno de los sentimientos más duros de trabajar pero si no actuamos a tiempo sería como un cáncer agresivo que acaba con la vida en cuestión de dias.

Pensemos en soluciones. Todo puede tener reparo. El amor todo lo puede, Dios todo lo perdona. Con el corazón y la verdad en las manos, obtendremos libertad para el alma, no la reprimas, dejemos que fluya.

In my opinion, we should not live condemned by conscience. Grief in the soul would end up ruining our lives. This is possibly one of the hardest feelings to work with, but if we do not act in time, it would be like an aggressive cancer that kills us in a matter of days.

Let's think of solutions. Everything can be repaired. Love can do all things, God forgives all things. With the heart and the truth in our hands, we will obtain freedom for the soul, do not repress it, let it flow.
