We're at the airport, waiting for our boarding announcement and both very hungry. However, it's great that we still got everything done early and now we wait.

There was a little confusion before we completed our checking in. The queues for different cities got mumbled up by the airline organiser people and so, getting to the ticketing stand took slightly longer than it should.

In any case, we got to the airport a good 2 hours before our flight, so our timing gave room for eventualities. Fortunately or unfortunately, we will now have to wait for a good part of the hour before boarding and we'll be doing it while hungry.

I've never had to buy airport food before but judging by the looks of things, it'll be pretty expensive. I guess its due to the price of shop rent but things in this place tend to be overpriced.

I guess things are relatively expensive at the airport because in Nigeria at least, it's usually the middle class and upward that use them. It's annoying because it's not like the food quality is any better than what you'd find outside.

To Tomorrow

We'd be landing in Port Harcourt and I must say, I am very excited about it. My nephews are going to be all over the place with their excitement because we haven't seen each other in a bit more than two years.

I also got them a couple of toys that they asked for, so I reckon that'll add more fuel to their excitement. In any case, I'm probably not going to have any breathing space for the next few days.

Honestly, I'd have preferred it if schools were on session. At least the we'll have some space from them but nope, they'll be bugging for the entire day.

Since I'll have spare time, I'll probably just take them to a park or something. Brandish their young and spongy minds with a memory.

I'm trying to be the best uncle I can be for my nephews. Not just because they're family and I love them but also because I never really had uncles that did anything fun with me.

I only had one uncle from my mum and one from my dad. My mum's brother wasn't someone we could actually talk to and he died in his early 60s.

My dad's brother was slightly better when he was alive because he had a friendly and chatty personality like most people from my dad's side. He seemed somewhat eccentric and had a very loud voice.

I have a few memories of my dad and mum's brother coming to visit us at Port Harcourt and bringing sea food with him. As a kid, little things like that stick with you and I'd like to make many wonderful memories with them, particularly as the day of my relocation comes closer.
