I was thinking about love today as I'd decided to make my music post themed around it and wanted to say a few words to introduce the reasons for the music I selected.
When I think of love between two people, I think of myself and my partner, the love that grew from a spark into a raging fire.
It's passionate, consistent and exclusive which makes me happy; but it's more than that too. It's an understanding we share, it's truth, confidence, giving and taking, integrity and loyalty come what may and it makes allowances for the human fallibility we both have and display at times. The love we share leaves room for imperfection, faults and failures and is forgiving when it needs to be.
I can't recall the moment we fell in love, there were many moments all combined and we nurtured those moments together as a couple and individually, allowed the other person to be who they really were and were openly and honestly ourselves as individuals. From there love grew.
Life is like a garden of many different flowers all with individual beauty, but together, all of them combined, is ultimate beauty and I feel it's the same with love and the love my man and I share...it's not a single thing or element, is all encompassing.

I've selected three songs today that make me think of love, differently. They all talk about love from different perspectives, unrequited, existing and future, but all convey passion, desire and love in their own way.

I have a playlist for love songs although two of these songs feature in other playlists also. I tend to shy away from more modern music these days, preferring something a little more classic over modern music which often feels so empty and devoid of true passion; not all of them, but most. These three songs are passionate about love and that's why I've selected them.
