Each of us see beauty differently both in others and ourselves.

We're often critical of, and unhappy with, aspects of our appearance which can lead to negative emotions and feelings which usually also affect our actions and outcomes. People can also be very judgemental of others and how they look which comes with a set of issues that can have negative impact.

Beauty can be defined in many ways but, putting them aside, I believe that if a person sees it, then it is so.

If I see beauty in another person, artwork, a garden, or any other thing, then to me that thing is beautiful; that beauty is my reality irrespective of others seeing it or not. It's the same if and when I see beauty in myself.

It's important for a person's well-being, growth and development to reflect inwardly and truly look at themselves. In doing so we can understand ourselves better, who we are in a given moment and who we may wish to be. It's important also to like and love oneself and to see beauty; it's important because if we see it in ourselves it will radiate outwards to others and they may see it too - it also feels good to like oneself.

We may not always like how we look, how our hair sits, our weight or shape, eye or skin colour, height or any other physical aspect, but a person has other elements that should be seen as beautiful.

I know people with a beautiful soul; Caring, generous, understanding and selfless. That's beauty.

I have people around me who have such engaging and enjoyable personalities that exude from deeply within them that it's impossible to resist them. That's beauty.

Some I know people posses a strength of character, honour and integrity that they live stringently by and that's beauty too.

A person is more than just how they look and it's the physical combined with what's inside a person that makes an entire person...beautiful.

There's many forms of beauty, just like a person can be ugly in more ways than one...both cannot exclusively be reserved for or applied to physical appearance. What is consistent between both is that people who look will see them and they will almost always see them differently to others...and to that person what they behold is their reality.
