Whats New
Every year I try and grow something new in the garden. Last year it was Ball Squash, Pumpkins and Sunflowers. I can say that the Ball Squash and Pumpkins were a success, but not so much the sunflowers. They grew great and had large heads however most of the seeds were empty or just rather small. We will be trying Sunflowers again this year, and with the help of a few friends we are adding three new seeds to the garden.
Our First addition came from @mountainmamma. She and her family blessed us with a couple dried Laffu's some of the seeds of which are now being given away on our HomesteadersOnline giveaway that
@goldendawne and I do weekly.
If you're interested I will LINK HERE. Several people are very excited about the Luffa Sponge seed being offered. Hopefully we will have a post out soon on turning your luffa into a soup sponge for everyday use.
Next on the list are Tobacco seeds from @shalomacres. HERE is @shalomacres post on his Tobacco. In which he talks about using the tobacco for worming his animals and other useful information. Check it out.
Lastly on this list of three comes Carrot seeds. These carrot seeds also came from @shalomacres.
Now I have grown carrots before, but not with any great success or flavor. With the abundance of seeds and information we received from @shalomacres we are confident we can have a succesful great tasting crop of carrots this year.
Here is his carrot informational video.
I would also like to add that the HomeSteadersOnline Seed Swap channel is now up and going. I will make a more detailed post later, but this is a very exciting idea that goes along with the seed giveaway @goldendawne and I have been doing for several months now.
