Have you ever been at the Zoo?
The Zoo where parents with their little kids love to come and see the different kinds of animals. The Zoo where people are smiling and having fun while interacting face to face with the animals.
Last weekend, I went to Manila Zoo (Philippines) with my family. Before entering, we payed 100 php for the entrance. The gates of the Zoo were big so it was easy to see what was inside even before entering.
Upon entering I first noticed the beautiful massive trees that enveloped the Zoo and I was mesmerized for a bit. Because here in the Philippines (especially inside the polluted Metro Manila), seeing big trees like that is so rare. So I took some photos of it.
And when I was done admiring the trees, I finally got to notice the big beautiful creature walking around its home.
I immediately ran towards it and stared at her for a few seconds.
We roamed the whole Zoo and it was tiring. There were different kinds of animals. Variety of birds, reptiles, etc..
A HEBRA. Fascinating right?
But the question is did I enjoy the trip to the Zoo? Did I have fun?
Being one of those people who thinks that animals are the most precious blessing that we have in our life, the trip to the Zoo was a nightmare.
Even before, I didn't like the idea of Zoos.
Walking around and seeing the poor animals looking so sad and so bored with their life, really broke my heart.
They don't deserve this.
They deserve to be living in their natural habitat being free and being with their kind.
They don't deserve to be imprisoned just to be used as display and give us eNteRtaiNm3nt.
The Zoo is where you with your family and friends can learn and bond together.
But from what I saw, I don't think I will ever enjoy seeing animals being locked up and sad for the rest of their lives.
I just hope other Zoos aren't as bad as this one.
ANIMALS DESERVE BETTER :)
