So my rewards for the week are gone because a 'good whale' who trolled me didn't like me snapping back. It's true I don't have much skin in the game on #HIVE but to be honest it's because of similar reasons to this. When you call out the BS, the BS calls you out. This is the danger of Discord related Hive channels. You can make personal relations and even get more clout, but at the same time you have to 'show respect'. Know your place little one! It's not enough to tag and out whoever is acting a certain way. It's pointless when you know you have no skin in the game, but it doesn't mean someone won.
We no longer live in an earn respect environment, especially in crypto.
I often ask myself, why bother blogging if it isn't for the 'rewards', but that got me thinking about what rewards really are. I enjoy blogging, I don't do it for the monetary gain, although it's nice to see appreciation!
I have invested most of the HIVE in HIVE-ENGINE tokens but there are projects that are stagnating and offering no true utility. Lately I have also been converting to #ETH and #BTC because I view those chains as the legacy market. It can always be converted back later, but like anything else depends on sustainability.
It's true when people get 'demonetized," they literally lose their shit. They can even make death threats for such a thing. Talk about virtual slavery right? Expecting to do well on a decentralized blog which really has no real decentralization. Proof of Stake is a form of centralization. The more stake you have, the more concentrated power you have. Of course there should be those who oppose and balance with their stake but let's face it..
What is crypto? Sometimes it's guy's or gal's who got into #BTC for pennies on the dollar and were handed a real gift of power they weren't mature enough for. They end up scurrying around blockchains forcing their immature views, and when there's push back on functionality or consensus they wave their stake. This isn't the case here. THe case here is simply ego and power.
I won't put everything in a box because there is the opposite of those who saw opportunity, took it and and make sound business decisions based upon micro and macro economic factors. Sometimes those sound business decisions involve greed, taking advantage of others because of a skill set and then taking advantage of investors.
You will find plenty of quick cash grabs on any blockchains; not just #HIVE. Once they FLEECE hive they become antagonistic and in narcissistic rage blame it on everyone else. Many then move to other chains sniffing money from unsuspecting patrons from the last. Rinse and repeat, wag big pee pee.
I know a lot of millionaires who made their money from not being just a nice guy. It's just like that. Not all millionaires are the same, but just like any ethnicity, religion, culture, there are good players and bad players. Nobody made guarantees especially in crypto land. The biggest gangsters (the government) in some cases just eliminate competition altogether. Crypto may be seen as competition.
Alright enough philosophizing. I wouldn't even read this if it was someone else blogging. Why am I here? Well to be frank when I write, my thoughts have to become somewhat logical. It's a mental exercise, which I enjoy. When I repeat things I have learned, it's almost a review. I also get some great comments from bloggers who actually read what I have to say! Imagine that. The best comments are readers are the two cent upvote I'm given, rather than the paid for upvote or occasional whale popper.
So here I am, writing again. Who would accept defeat? One who is weak in mind. Now if I can only get my body up to par.. that's also a mental exercise.
