Hangover Cure
Oxygen: Nowadays there is a hard-and-fast rule for pilots—"8 hours bottle to throttle" (meaning that there must be 8 hours between the pilot's last drink and the time he reports for work)—but back in the days of World War Il, there was often a lot less notice than was needed to sober up before flight. The solution was a blast of oxygen. The oxygen is more symptom relief than actual cure, but it's enough to fly you home.
