A picture of me
There’s a phase of life that rarely gets spoken about with honesty, that's the space where direction fades, but nothing new has fully taken its place. It’s not dramatic, it doesn’t look like breaking down or starting over. It’s quieter than that. It feels like being carried by a current, steady, unseen, and slightly out of your control.
There are times, I do think life was meant to be intentional at every step in that you should always know where you’re going, or at least be working toward something clear. But experience has a way of interrupting that belief. There comes a point where the plans you held onto begin to loosen, not out of failure, but because they no longer fit who you’re becoming.
And suddenly, you’re not navigating anymore, you’re drifting.
Some would romanticize it, a like freedom, a life unbound by structure or expectation. But the reality is more grounded, it’s not about escape or adventure. It’s about transition, it’s about standing in a space where certainty has quietly stepped aside, making room for something you can’t yet define.
In my own experience, this phase didn’t arrive with clarity. It came with questions I couldn’t immediately answer.
Should I be doing more?
Am I falling behind?
Why does everything feel paused?
And yet, beneath those questions, there was also a strange calm. A sense that maybe this stillness was not emptiness, but preparation.
Because drifting, in its truest form, isn’t about being lost. It’s about release, it's the moment you stop forcing direction and allow yourself to exist without rushing into the next version of your life.
If this feels familiar, then you’ve likely been here too that quiet middle ground. Where you’re no longer who you were, but not quite who you’re becoming, it is subtle, but deeply real.
And maybe that’s the connection we don’t talk about enough, that many of us are being carried in ways we don’t fully understand.
Not off course but through one.
So instead of fighting the current, I’ve learned to move with it, trusting that even here, while drifting, something is taking shape.
