I think I would want to experience the new year's eve at a beach this time... #loh314

I don't know if it's just me, but there is something about doing the same thing every year that makes you want to try something different.
My friend and I have been having this conversation about where to spend our New Year's Eve cause we are actually getting a little tired of spending it with our families every single year.
Lol, before you misunderstand me, I love my family, but must every New Year's Eve look the same?
Can't we go somewhere, have fun, explore a new place and give ourselves something different to remember?
That was how the enquiries started.
We talked about a few places and then I remembered something. Why are we looking so far when there is a place in my own state that I have been hearing so much about?
That's ibeno Beach
Yes, that beautiful beach in Akwa Ibom State.
Funny enough, I am from Akwa Ibom, yet Ibeno Beach is one of those places I keep hearing people talk about without actually making the effort to visit. And the more I see people describe their experiences, the more I wonder what exactly I have been waiting for.

Have you ever seen a place in pictures and immediately started imagining yourself there? That's me right there...
I keep picturing a long stretch of golden sand, the Atlantic Ocean stretching as far as my eyes can see, the sound of the waves and that cool sea breeze touching my face.

Just imagine walking barefoot on the sand, taking pictures, laughing with my friend and having absolutely no reason to rush anywhere.
For someone who spends quite a lot of time thinking, writing and trying to put words together, I think a little time away from everything would be lovely. Sometimes, you don't need an expensive vacation or a trip outside the country to feel like you have had a proper holiday. You just need somewhere different.

And Ibeno seems to have that kind of attraction.
What makes the place even more interesting is that it is not just about the beautiful ocean.
Ibeno is a coastal community with a strong fishing culture and fishing is part of everyday life for many people there, and the area is closely connected to the Qua Iboe River. So, there is more to discover than just the beach itself.
As I would love to see some of the local fishing activities, experience the community, taste freshly prepared seafood and maybe learn a little about how people living around the coastline go about their daily lives.
While making enquiries about the ibeno beach, I found out from my parents that Ibeno Beach is widely described as one of the longest beaches in West Africa, with an estimated stretch of about 30 kilometres.
Thirty kilometres, that's not a small stretch of sand. Ohhh, I have to the coastline to explore definitely.
While on the discussion, my dad told me the beach activities. From beach games to boating and enjoying the ocean scenery, and also there are different ways to make the visit interesting.

I don't know about my friend, but I am already adding taking beautiful pictures to my list. We must have evidence that we actually went somewhere this New Year. Lol.
But what I really want is that New Year's Eve feeling.
I want to watch the sun go down, enjoy the atmosphere, have conversations that don't involve worrying about the next day's responsibilities and welcome a new year with a different kind of excitement.
I can imagine us sitting by the beach, talking about the year that is ending, the things we achieved, the things we didn't, and all the beautiful possibilities ahead of us.
Of course, we will need to plan properly, find suitable accommodation and make sure we understand the beach's safety arrangements and available activities before going.
But one thing is certain that is i am genuinely considering Ibeno Beach.

Perhaps this is also a reminder that we sometimes overlook the beautiful places around us because we are busy admiring destinations elsewhere.
So, my Akwa Ibom people, I need your help
If you have visited Ibeno Beach, please tell me what I should expect, what is the experience really like?
Are there and beautiful spots we shouldn't miss? And what would you recommend we do when we get there?
Please, don't just tell me it is beautiful, give me the details. I want to know what makes the experience worth having.
And if you could spend your New Year's Eve anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
For now, Ibeno Beach is looking like my first choice, let's see if my friend and I will finally make this happen
