Hi everyone, hope you're all having a peaceful weekend!!!
Today, I wanted to share a new digital collage I put together for the LMAC community. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about what it means to find a quiet space inside your own head when everything around you feels a bit loud or distracting. This piece is my way of leaning into that feeling.
The idea here is pretty simple but deeply personal. At the very bottom, there’s a quiet figure sitting in total meditation on a checkered floor. The world around him is completely out of scale, and there’s literal fire burning inside those old retro TV screens right next to him, but he aren't bothered by it at all.
Right in the middle sits this massive, heavy red apple. To me, it kind of represents reality, or just the big, heavy things we carry in life. But right on top, this beautiful bird with iridescent feathers is just hanging out, looking out into the solid blue space. I went with a very solid, clean blue background because I wanted the whole piece to feel like a vast, empty room where you can actually hear yourself think. The sharp contrast between the blue and the bright red of the apple really helps ground the center of the image.
It’s just a visual reminder that no matter how strange, alien, or intense things get on the outside, we can still find a way to anchor ourselves and just... breathe.
