I'm so close to 48. And the way I feel these days I may as well be 50...or even 90!
I have been overweight most of my life. Definitely my whole childhood.
But there was a moment in my late 20s- early 30s when I got in shape.
And then fell apart a little...
And then had a trip to Las Vegas for my 10 year wedding anniversary to motivate me to get back into shape again.
I was 36 that year.
And I got into the best shape I had ever been in.
I was wearing clothes off the rack without even trying them on!
I was wearing clothes from my past that I had only ever dreamed I could wear.
I was so happy.
So healthy. And fit.
I felt...I WAS! strong.
During this phase of my life I decided to join the roller derby league my friends had just decided to start in our little neck of the woods.
I was in great shape! What better time to join!?
But as things progressed, and I started training more than skating. And late night practices ended in a trip to the bar for a nightcap, things just fell apart.
I was in great shape when I started skating...
But it didn't take long for that weight to pack back on.
And skating and feeling comfortable in this situation was tough.
I didn't like it.
I missed being fit.
I still miss it.
This post is really only serving as one thing:
MY OWN MOTIVATION!
Thanks for letting me let it all out. I'm on a mission to get back to that strong girl in the first picture.
