About two weeks ago, I wanted to make a short post on hotels, from a five-star hotel we went to for a weekend rest. While we were on our way from Istanbul to Edirne with the intention of going to Edirne, we started to search for a close place for the weekend, in order to rest a little, instead of a far place. And we decided to go to a five-star hotel in Silivri. Our aim; We wanted to rest with my uncle, visit a few places near Sillivri and visit, get away from home for the weekend and be busy with our own minds.

Yaklaşık iki hafta önce, hafta sonu dinlenmesi için gittiğimiz beş yıldızlı bir otel üzerinden, oteller üzerine kısa bir paylaşım yapmak istedim. İstanbul'dan Edirne2ye gitme niyeti ile çıktığımız yolda ilerlerken, hafta sonu için uzak bir yer yerine, biraz kafa dinlemek biraz da dinlenmek amacıyla yakın bir yerleri araştırmaya başladık. Ve Silivri taraflarında yer alan beş yıldızlı bir otele gitmeye karar verdik. Amacımız; amcamla birlikte dinlenip, Silivri civarına yakın bir iki yere uğrayıp ziyaretler yapmak, hafta sonu için evden uzaklaşıp biraz kendi kafamızla meşgul olmak istedik.
The hotel we arrived at was advertised as a five-star hotel. The location of the hotel was in a very nice place, but it was a hotel far from the sea. However, guests often want to relax a little and take advantage of facilities such as the pool and sauna. The entrance to the hotel was a little plain. My purpose in this post is not to say the lack or more of the hotel and make a critic's comment. I just want to tell you that a hotel that is advertised as five stars is not worth five stars. Because although I have seen many hotels; I was curious about the five-star standard of this hotel, but the differences in some aspects did not make me feel five-star. It was as if it was a hotel that should have stayed as a four star.
Geldiğimiz otel beş yıldızlı olarak lanse ediliyordu. Otelin konumu çok güzel bir yerdeydi fakat denize uzak bir oteldi. Ancak misafirlerin tercihi çoğu zaman biraz dinlenmek ve havuz sauna gibi imkanlardan faydalanmak istiyorlar. Otelin girişi biraz sadeydi. Bu paylaşımda ki amacım otelin eksiğini veya fazlasını söyleyip bir eleştirmen yorumu yapmak değildir. Sadece beş yıldız olarak lanse edilmiş bir otelin beş yıldız değerinde olmadığını anlatmak istiyorum. Çünkü birçok otel görmeme rağmen; bu otelin beş yıldız alma standardını merak ettim ancak bazı yönden farklılıkları bende beş yıldız izlenimini uyandırmadı. Sanki dört yıldız olarak kalması gereken bir oteldi.
In general, I will not talk about hotel promotions, I will only talk about a few shortcomings or inappropriate aspects. Firstly; When we got to our room, the window in the second room of the room, which was given as a suite family room, was looking into a very narrow building space. The building space was very narrow and moreover, it was empty of air. It was also filled with small rubbish, which is not healthy for a five star hotel. In other words, it's something that shouldn't happen anywhere. And because the windows face the building space, there was no daylight coming in, even there was no lamp on the ceiling, instead, there were small lamps at the head of the bed. A room fully prepared for sleeping.
Genel olarak otel tanıtımlarından söz etmeyeceğim, sadece küçük birkaç eksiklik ya da uygun gelmeyen yönlerinden söz edeceğim. Öncelikle; odamıza çıktığımızda, süit aile odası olarak verilen odanın ikinci odasında ki pencere çok dar bir bina boşluğuna bakıyordu. Bina boşluğu çok dar ve üstelik havasız kalmıştı. Ayrıca küçük çöplerle dolmuştu, bu durum beş yıldızlı bir otel için sağlıklı değil. Daha doğrusu hiçbir yerde olmaması gereken bir durum. Ve pencerelerin bina boşluğuna bakması sebebiyle içeriye gün ışığı gelmiyordu, hatta tavanda lamba da yoktu bunun yerine yatak başlarında küçük lambalar vardı. Tamamen uyumak için hazırlanmış bir oda.
Secondly, the opening and closing hours of the pool and sauna sections that I particularly want to go to have been put at very unusable times. The pool and sauna service, which opened at 9.30 in the morning, closed at 22:00 in the evening. The pool was about to close after we went out and came back in the evening. However, pool hours should be later for customers. Me too; I wanted to enter in the morning, but although the reception told me 9 in the morning, when I went down to enter the pool, they said that the pool would open at 9.30. Since we were going out before noon, I couldn't enter the pool thinking about breakfast. Even in a normal hotel, the pool opens early in the morning, allowing guests to take advantage of the pool facility. Opening at such a late hour does not cause anyone to leave anyway, rather it leaves the guests in between.
İkinci olarak, benim özellikle gitmek istediğim havuz ve sauna bölümlerinin açılış ve kapanış saatleri, çok kullanışsız vakitlere konmuş. Sabah 9.30 da açılan havuz ve sauna hizmeti, akşam 22.00 da kapanıyordu. Bizim dışarı gidip akşam gelmemizden sonra havuz kapanmak üzereydi. Halbuki müşteriler için havuz saatleri daha geç olabilmelidir. Ben de; sabah girmek istedim fakat resepsiyon bana sabah 9 demesine rağmen ben aşağıya gidip havuza girmek için indiğimde havuzun saat 9.30 da açılacağını söylediler. Biz ise öğleden önce çıkacağımız için kahvaltıyı da düşünerek havuza giremedim. Normal bir otelde bile, sabah erken saatlerde havuz açılır ve misafirlerin havuz imkanından faydalanması sağlar. Bu kadar geç saatte açılması zaten birilerinin gitmesine sebep olmaz, daha çok misafirleri arada bırakır.
The third problem was the room where breakfast was served. Breakfast, on the other hand, started at 7 am and finished at 10 am. So, would it be easy for someone who goes to rest or go for a weekend get up before 10 in the morning and go down to breakfast? It is difficult for people to have breakfast before 10 am now. We already had this experience from the guests who were there. We got off again before 10 am, but many people got down late for breakfast and the employees were locking the hall door because breakfast time was over. Could this be such a stupid thing? There was no tea, the table chair selection in the hall was like the table chairs found in artisan restaurants of the 90s.
Üçüncü sıkıntı ise kahvaltı hizmetinin verildiği salondu. Kahvaltı ise, sabah 7 de başlayıp saat 10.00 da bitiyordu. Yani hafta sonu dinlenmeye veya gezmeye giden birileri için sabah 10'dan önce kalkıp kahvaltıya inmesi kolay olur mu? İnsanlar için artık sabah 10 öncesi kahvaltı zor oluyor. Zaten bu deneyimi orada bulunan misafirlerden yaşadık. Biz yine saat 10'dan önce indik ama birçok kişi kahvaltıya geç indi ve çalışanlar kahvaltı saati bittiği için salon kapısını kilitliyorlardı. Böyle saçma bir durum olabilir mi? Çay yoktu, salonun masa sandalye seçimi 90'lı yılların esnaf lokantalarında bulunan masa sandalyeler gibiydi.
Anyway, my aim is not to denigrate the hotel by pouring out too many shortcomings, I'm wondering, are there any conditions that need to be changed for hotels with five star standards? In a five-star hotel, is the breakfast room door locked? Or are buildings built with the room window facing the building space?

Neyse çok fazla eksik yönünü dökerek oteli kötülemek değil amacım, benim merak ettiğim beş yıldız standartlarında olan oteller için bu yönden değiştirilmesi gereken şartlar yok mu? Beş yıldızlı bir otelde, kahvaltı salonu kapısı kilitlenir mi? Veya oda penceresi bina boşluğuna bakacak şekilde inşa edilir mi binalar?
