We find ourselves with fears but also with a lot of excitement to follow new paths, but at the end of the day that's what life is for, to go in search of more.
Greetings to all the beautiful Hive family. This week with very emotional posts for our departure, and I am looking forward to share with you this wonderful experience.
HORA CERO || ZERO HOUR
Exactly 4 months ago we purchased our departure tickets. At that moment all I felt was excitement. It seemed not so real, so many years planning the trip and finally we had a date.
I made a calendar, and was marking each day that passed, so I could keep track of all the pending and get organized.
So we spent Christmas and New Year's without thinking much about our migration, the days passed normally.
The date was approaching and when we were very close to it I began to feel tachycardia and a feeling of being breathless, I knew it was nothing serious and I began to do conscious breathing, to do some exercise, listen to music of my preference and thus control what I thought were anxiety attacks.
And then came the zero hour, the day we would leave the island, that would be the beginning of our trip, first we would be a few weeks in Caracas before embarking on the long road to our destination.
A few weeks ago we had already started to organize everything and even the suitcases, however it was that night that we dedicated ourselves to formally pack them.
That night we went to bed at 5:00am selecting what stayed and what went. We weighed the suitcases and redistributed the weight to achieve the weight stipulated by the agency, the small ones a maximum of 8kg and the big ones no more than 23kg.
Our trip was just hours away and many feelings were beginning to meet, between nostalgia, fear and excitement to embark on a new journey.
We woke up at 7:00am, we only slept 2 hours, my husband was in extreme sleep, he had several nights without being able to sleep well.
The suitcases were packed and the drawers were empty ... we were ready to leave!
NUESTRA BITÁCORA DE SALIDA : || OUR DEPARTURE LOG :
10:00 am a friend of my husband's with a van arrived at the house to help us with the bags to the airport, on the other hand my brothers in law were waiting for us at a meeting point and from there we left to the airport.
Saying goodbye to the grandparents in the case of my girls and to their parents in the case of my husband... was the hardest part, so many thoughts... and above all not knowing with certainty when we would see each other again.
Once we were in the cars we started our way to the airport, as we were moving forward I had to say goodbye to all those places that had been my home for 18 years.
11:00am we arrived at the airport, we unloaded our bags and arrived at Aeropostal to check in, we were waiting for the weight issue...fortunately everything was fine.
We were informed that we had to be at the departure gate at 1:00pm, so we took advantage of that time with my brothers-in-law and sister-in-law to have a drink and share those moments we had left.
1:00pm we had to say goodbye with a lot of nostalgia that feeling of not being able to say: bye bye see you tomorrow or see you soon is the hardest thing. I did my best to stay strong but it was not easy. We walked in and headed to the waiting room, quiet and exhausted.
1:30pm the Aeropostal staff called the passengers for the flight to Maiquetía and we boarded the plane.
1:45 pm the plane started engines and we left for the Simón Bolívar airport in Maiquetía.
At 2:20pm we arrived at our destination. My brother and his friend were already outside to take us to Caracas and help us with our luggage.
At 2:45pm we were already in the cars and on our way to the city of Caracas, my mind, if I am honest, was blank, I was quite exhausted and I preferred to rest my mind.
3:15pm we arrived at our destination at my brother's house, we unloaded our bags, talked for a while and finally toasted with a few glasses of wine.
There are still a few days left to continue the 2nd part of this trip. For now we have to enjoy a few days in Caracas….
