Hello fellow Hivers and Photography Fans!

Today I bring to you a few pictures captured this morning at the lake.

While walking this morning, I noticed the low tide had revealed an area of land that stuck further out.
There were a handful of birds and rocks to be seen, but more notably these old posts.

I believe these remains specifically belonged to an old dock, though you can sometimes find posts sticking out of the water that used to for lumber purposes.

I find this to be somewhat a relaxing thing to stand in front of and look at.
The symmetry of the posts, the birds using them as a perch, and the fact I didn't know there used to be a dock here until this morning.

With Lakes in this area, it isn't uncommon to have a a significant difference in water level throughout the seasons. This year feels like it has receded more, though I haven't ever actually walked by the lake frequently for a few years. So maybe it's just been a while.

Even if these pictures weren't black and white, they wouldn't look much different. In fact, it's almost easier to see the details in this color scheme. It's all very gray/blue as it is, so I actually found that taking it without color allowed for some details to stand out. Very cool!

It's been fun walking down by the lake this winter. No one is there, since it's winter, and I'm sure partially because of the general "try to stay inside" atmosphere around here. Just a couple days ago, I was looking at a shoreline tree which had a lot of exposed roots and I didn't notice these posts because I stopped to take pictures. If I had continued my walk, I would have seen these. A present for another day I suppose.

Thanks for reading!

I hope you liked my first submission to the #monomad challenge. I've been seeing some great pictures from this community pop up over the last few weeks, and have been wanting to post something but I wasn't sure what. Then this morning I found quite a nice spot to take pictures.
