Police Checkpoint 📷 Monomad Challenge

Awareness of safety while riding—particularly among those on two-wheeled vehicles—remains very low in my city.

Yet, data on fatal accidents resulting from the failure to wear a helmet clearly shows that such tragedies occur all too often.

In response, the local traffic police frequently conduct routine checks to remind the public just how vital helmets are for motorcyclists.

This morning, the city center park suddenly became a hive of activity as motorists were brought to a halt by a police checkpoint.

Many riders—lacking the proper documentation or equipment—tried to avoid the area; however, quite a few were caught and subsequently issued traffic citations for their violations.

I took the opportunity to capture some of these moments to share as an entry for this edition of the Monomad Challenge.
