Good evening, #Monomad friends
Porto’s Waterfront
Here is my entry for the #monomad contest by @brumest and
@monochromes.
The beauty and uniqueness of a place are closely tied to its architecture, but also to its people.
A city is only truly a city when it is lived in and breathed by those who live there, by those who stroll, work, and relax there. Or simply by those who visit it, as I did, always searching for a source of light and radiance to be discovered in every corner.
Built between 1881 and 1886, the Dom Luís Bridge, or Luiz I Bridge, is a structure that connects the two banks of the Douro River. On one side lies the ancient and unconquered northern city of Porto, and on the other, the ever-faithful and thriving Vila Nova de Gaia. A bridge, with its imposing metal structure, spans the two banks, carrying cars, people, and the metro across quickly and safely.
I really enjoy photographing bridges. It has always been one of my favorite subjects. Bridges not only shorten distances but also carry and bring hope—hope for those who leave and those who return—in the ever-present desire to change and to arrive.
An overwhelming passion. A true A true amour.
I hope you enjoyed my post here in the B&W community
