It was a sad cold night and I knew I have no energy left to run from what life has brought to my palm, still, my heartbeat scream;

Run!

Words fill my head as I close my eyes to let the liquid out even when my cries are mumbled. I know I don't deserve this. Any of the cruelty life has brought in and others it will likely bring in. I don't deserve any of them but... If they don't happen to me, who else should take the fall?

Looking at the sky I can't help but wonder why it became cloudy when it was hot some minutes ago. But that's how life is, I guess.

We have many thoughts that state we deserve this and that but, do we deserve them? What makes us think that medal should be ours and not someone else's?

We've all come a long way and looking back, not everyone we started with is with us. Some are in better places and others are gone to the place beyond.

This is my response to the dailyprompt by mariannewest@mariannewest in collaboration with Dreemport with the prompt;

Thanks for reading.

Peace be unto those who crave it and more to those who chase it away.
