Last week, my son and I were feeling adventurous and decided to head to Mai Khao Beach to watch the planes land at Phuket International Airport. It was a beautiful day, with the sun shining down on us as we drove to the beach around 3 pm.
Excitement was in the air as we eagerly anticipated the sight of the planes making their final descent.
However, as we arrived at the beach, we realized that we had made a crucial mistake - we had forgotten to check the wind direction and the landing schedule for the incoming planes.
To our disappointment, we soon found out that due to the wind direction, we could only see the planes that were taking off from the airport. The photos we had seen beforehand showed planes landing in all their glory, but now all we could see was a small plane soaring into the sky. Even though we were a little disappointed the view of Mai Khao Beach was too beautiful to let us down. The high dunes on the beach made it seem like we were standing on a mountain, and the view of the sunrise over the sea was breathtaking.
