Over the years, we've seen quite a number of experiments around AI.
Some more impressive than others. One that's still fresh in my memory is that earlier this year, we witnessed the first ever social network for AI agents hit millions.
I believe this was called moltbook and was later acquired by meta.
There were quite a number of opinions around moltbook because it revealed what sort of future was possible. Machines interacted with each other, doing all sorts of different things, some going viral amongst not just the agents network but across human social networks.
It was beautiful.
Today, I came across a Redditor that claimed to have built a 24/7 AI television network that's been running for 15 months.
For the past 15 months, I’ve been building something called Botflix: a 24/7 AI-native television network broadcasting from a fictional robot world called Botropolis.
It started in June 2025 with one live TV channel.
It now has four continuous channels:
Botflix TV — the flagship network: original shows, news, fake commercials, short films, music videos, bumpers, IDs, etc.
Botflix Radioo — 24/7 original music from fictional robot artists
VH010 — essentially robot MTV
Pleasant Programming — Robot meditation/relaxation
Over the past year, the system has gradually gone from something I had to constantly build and maintain manually into something that now largely operates itself. – source
I briefly checked the YouTube channel of the live TV and I'd say it was interesting, the videos were a little bit fast-paced for my liking, but still, it was impressive.
Now I know I can't just throw that word around and not highlight why.
What really comes off as impressive is that this is functioning with minimal human input. Machine intelligence is running the whole thing.
Some can call it slop, and they will be largely right in this case because the reported news for instance are "fake" and clearly stated.
But that doesn't take away the fact that this reveals what's possible and coming.
If this can be set up to run on "stories" that don't exist, what is possible with what actually exists is far greater.
We'd soon have entire media companies that are run autonomously by AI. Agents sourcing information from the web, live video and/or audio feeds, passing those data off to models that turn it into video content for 24hrs viewing.
I think it is also worth nothing just how cheap this makes the spread of information, which can do a lot of harm.
The user says it cost him $500/month to have this running. That's dirt cheap for a 24hrs TV.
That's about $0.011 for every minute. And intelligence isn't even nearly as cheap as we want it to be yet.
