One of the greatest titles in the world is parent and one of the biggest blessings in the world is to have parents to call mom and Dad.

I'm very privileged to have both of my parents in my life. They are the reason I'm alive today, and their love and care is the reason I've achieved all I've achieved so far. The mere thought of their love has helped me get through tough times in the past. At times I think what my life would be like without them.
In this post I'll be telling you about my relationship with my parents by answering some questions that were put forth by 
What role do/did your parents play in your life?
When I was young my Dad was always very busy, always traveling, and always doing whatever he could to put food on the table, sometimes he had to relocate for a while, while my mum was the one tasked with watching over us and making sure that we didn't lack anything. I was pretty much happy with this even though at times I'd miss my dad.
Has your relationship with your parents changed over the years?
My relationship with my parents has changed over time. When I was younger I was a lot closer to my mum, because we were always together. Now I feel I'm getting closer to my dad, seeing as I now stay with him whenever I'm on holiday. I'm finding out more about him everytime.
Is there anything you wish your parents would do （or would have done) differently?
Now that I think about it, I don't see mistakes in how they raised me. But at times I wished they'd be a bit more receptive to my feelings and a lot less controlling. I think this is why at times I found it difficult to tell them whenever I did something wrong. I also wish my dad could have been more available.
Totally unrelated to raising me, but I remember In early 2019 my elder brother adviced my dad to buy one bitcoin, my dad ignored him, and the rest they say is history. I really can't blame him for not, but I wish he had taken the risk. We'd probably be swimming in money now, lol. He made some good profit off real estate though.
How are you similar to your parents?
I'd say I'm similar to my mum when it comes to being nice, we are both very nice and generous, we look alike a bit, we can both be sarcastic at times (I try not to be sarcastic here on hive, but in real life I can be very sarcastic), and that's about it.
If you had asked me the similarities between me and my dad a couple years back I wouldn't be able to say anything other than the fact that we look so much alike. But now that I'm getting to know him better, I've found out where I got my strong-will from, I've found out why I think deeply, I've found out why I can play table tennis very well without putting so much effort into training, I've also found out why I'm very competitive (which might be the reason we clash heads at times, lol). We are very similar in many ways .
How are you different from your parents?
Well, this one's a bit difficult, I'd say the major difference between me and both my parents is the fact that I'm more open-minded than them. I tend to accept new things a lot easier than them, therefore I learn new things faster.
Do you prefer a more involved relationship with your parents or more distance?
Honestly, I like the way things are at the moment. See them every every holiday, talk to them regularly over the phone and all that. Because though I love them a lot, they tend to want to control everything about me whenever they are close by. They refuse to see that their little boy has grown up. Which I love at times, but at times it gets on my nerves. I'm someone who likes to do things my way (another trait I picked from my dad), and when they're around I have to change and do some things their way.
