The art of making pots for fishing.

It is an art in my opinion, they are made with wire and sticks, usually the fishermen know the areas where they can submerge them to have good fishing, these pots according to me the fishermen tell me remain a few days at the bottom of the sea fulfilling its function, then remove them and extract all the fish inside.

The fishermen of yesteryear had their methods to mark the location of these pots, guided by the cardinal points, mountains or any point of reference, still some old fishermen use this method, other younger ones use devices for it. I was walking through town and found these acquaintances, they are hardy men of the sea, they get together to set them up, most of them are family and fish together.

The anecdotes are common, the fisherman is jocular and helpful. The cacique rum drink is never missing in these meetings to liven up the day, young and old, the family joins together to celebrate the end of the day that will ensure food for their families, always under the protection of the Virgin of Carmen, patron saint of the town. The fisherman here is devoted to the virgin, most of the boats have her image painted on them. It is a risky job, the sea is intrepid, beautiful and dangerous.
