Another page in my sketchbook. Got another day of practicing gouache paints. I love the solid opaque look of gouache but I definitely love the flow and gradient of watercolors. I love how different they work and I can easily apply them both in an artwork.

In the creative sense, I feel liberated because earlier I use to think really hard about what I like and what am I saying with the painting and the meaning behind it. Because of overthinking every small thing, it used to feel frustrating at times. It also came in the way of simply practicing the skill.

Over time I've realized that I'm only holding myself back from learning and exploring. Sometimes you think you know yourself and that thinking can box you, liberating to try new things might surprise you.

Medium : Gouache + Watercolor (For more details)
