I wasn’t ready to leave. My mind was still reeling from the mess my husband had gotten us into. He’d squandered all my money, leaving me with nothing. I felt like the biggest fool for trusting him with my assets. The car ride was supposed to be a free ride, but now I was trapped with two men – one in the front and one in the back. My thoughts were racing. How would I provide for my children? What would happen to us?

But then, a plan began to form. I remembered my husband’s family address. Maybe, just maybe, I could turn the tables. I took a deep breath and told the men my story – about how my husband had betrayed me. I proposed a deal: if they could kidnap his family, we could demand a ransom. Maybe, just maybe, I could get my properties back.

The men looked at each other, and I could sense their interest. We made a plan, and night fell. The operation was a success. My husband’s family was taken, and the ransom demand was sent. Days passed, and the money rolled in. I got my properties back, and more. It was a sweet victory.

In that moment, I realized I wasn’t the fool – my husband was the king of fools. I’d outsmarted him, and I’d gotten my life back on track. The car ride had been a turning point. I’d taken control, and I’d fought back.
