Bleachers Unveils New Album Details and Drops Single "Alma Mater"
Jack Antonoff's musical venture, Bleachers, has divulged details about their upcoming album, simply titled Bleachers, accompanied by the release of the second single, "Alma Mater." Scheduled to drop on March 8 through Dirty Hit, the album features vocals from Lana Del Rey, a longstanding collaborator with Antonoff. The band had previously released the single "Modern Girl" last month, which was also performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
In a conversation with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Antonoff shared insights into the song's creation, mentioning that Lana Del Rey played a significant role in its development. He expressed a desire for the song to evoke an intimate setting, as if he were conversing with someone in their basement. The track incorporates random scratch takes and noises to convey a sense of authenticity.
The album, Bleachers, follows their 2021 release, Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night. Antonoff, recognized for his exceptional production skills, is once again nominated for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, at the upcoming Grammy Awards.
The tracklist for Bleachers includes songs like "I Am Right on Time," "Jesus Is Dead," "Tiny Moves," and "We're Gonna Know Each Other Forever," among others. Fans can anticipate a diverse and captivating collection from Bleachers when the album hits the airwaves on March 8.
