Watch Billie Eilish Perform "What Was I Made For?" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" on Saturday Night Live
Billie Eilish took the stage for the third time on Saturday Night Live, showcasing her musical prowess with performances of her Barbie song "What Was I Made For?" and a cover of the Judy Garland holiday classic "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Accompanied by her brother, Finneas, on the piano, Eilish's rendition of "What Was I Made For?" was introduced by director Greta Gerwig and host Kate McKinnon. The singer also made appearances in two sketches during the show.
In addition to her musical performances, Eilish participated in the musical sketch "Tampon Farm" and joined McKinnon in the comedic "Whiskers R We" bit, where they ran a cat shelter in matching glasses and perms. Eilish's guest appearance follows recent performances by Olivia Rodrigo, Noah Kahan, Tate McRae, and Boygenius on SNL.
Christian McBride, who joined Eilish and Finneas on stand-up bass for "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," expressed his excitement about the experience, stating, "Playing on SNL was a total thrill. Billie Eilish has become one of my favorite people to work with, and her entire family are the kindest people."
Eilish's song "What Was I Made For?" has received five nominations at the upcoming 2024 Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Best Music Video. It is also nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Song for a Motion Picture. The singer's performances on SNL showcased her versatility and solidified her presence as a standout artist in the music industry.
