Aerosmith's Peace Out Farewell Tour Faces Setback Due to Steven Tyler's Vocal Cord Damage
Aerosmith, the iconic rock band, has hit a roadblock in their farewell tour as lead singer Steven Tyler has suffered vocal cord damage, requiring him to step away from performing for the next 30 days.
As a result of Tyler's condition, the band has made the tough decision to reschedule the next six tour dates, including shows in Detroit, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Toronto, Raleigh, and Cleveland. Fans who were eagerly awaiting these concerts will now have to wait until early 2024. The tour is slated to resume on October 11 in Tampa, Florida.
Steven Tyler expressed his disappointment about the situation on the band's social media page :
Aerosmith had announced their farewell tour plans in May, which also included the news that founding drummer Joey Kramer would not be part of the tour. Kramer made this decision to prioritize his family and health. This recent setback follows a cancellation of the final four dates of their winter 2022 Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas residency due to an undisclosed ailment that Tyler was dealing with at the time.
The Peace Out tour initially kicked off on September 2 in Philadelphia but hit a snag during the band's third show on September 9 in Belmont Park, New York, when Tyler sustained vocal cord damage. Currently, the last confirmed date of the tour is set for February 29, 2024, in Cleveland. Fans will have to wait patiently while Tyler recovers and the band regroups for their final performances.
