I had to travel to my daughters house today which is in Birmingham. She has just finished her university finals, after 5 years away, she is coming home. My job was to drive up and collect her stuff. Not her though, she had a party to go to so will come home during the week.
It took me nearly 3 hours to get there because of the traffic. It took me half an hour to load all her boxes in the car.
On the way back, the traffic was quite slow again. It rained hard too so the traffic at points went down to a crawl. I stopped at the services for some food and rest. As the sign says, it was a "welcome break".
I still had an hour to drive from there and then another half hour to unpack her things from the car.
