There are walks that are beyond marvellous, walks that make you think that what you are seeing does not belong to this world and yet it is here.

That's what happened to me when I took a path that I didn't know about, but at the same time it was so majestic that I enjoyed every minute of it.

At this point in the city there were no more houses, or the last ones were on the top of a hill.

I looked out to sea as I walked up an uphill ramp that led me on a path to an adventure.

I look back and see what I had climbed, leaving behind the last stretch of town, where there is no more bus route.

20231024_151237.jpg

I see the city in the distance and its mountains almost disappearing, how immense.

Once up that ramp the first thing I come across is a yacht club, called El Candado.

I have always loved boats, as far back as I can remember, and seeing so many of them and looking out to sea I could not resist saving them in the form of photographs.

It looked like a large gathering of boats and ships that had come together to deliberate on some important matter regarding their sea voyages and how their owners treated them.

I wondered if they were chatting, I couldn't hear them, but surely they had a language of their own and in a vibration that didn't reach my ears.

All tidy, in line and very well organised, surely the leader of them all is a very good organiser of this great assembly of boats.

To one side I find this establishment that belongs to the same club, but it seems that here they have parties... do the boats dance? It could be.

After seeing this big meeting, the landscape changes completely, except for the view of the sea.

I find myself already with signs indicating the beginning of the trail itself.

I realised that when taking pictures where the sun focuses on the camera it is possible to have mistakes like this one. We will say that it was my finger focusing on the sign to fix the mistake.

The Paseo de los Canadienses is a very long path with practically no shade.

On one side of it we have the rock, mountain or low mountain and the road with a bridge that serves as a walkway between one side of the road and the other.

20231024_152428.jpg

But on the opposite side we have the wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea, the water, the city in the distance.

I really liked the fact that I could stop on my walk from time to time and leaning on the wooden railings, admire the beautiful scenery and how the sun reflected on the water.

20231024_153153.jpg

Besides the fact that every so often there were seats to rest or just to watch, to see what is around us, the beauty around us. The contact with nature is wonderful.

20231024_153321.jpg

As there were no houses or buildings there seemed to be a different air, the sounds were different, just the crashing of the water against the rocks, birds near the bush behind me and the breeze around me.

20231024_153627.jpg

Each new stop offered me a view that, for me, was different, although many might say it was still the same, but I saw peculiarities.

20231024_153636.jpg

From time to time I would turn around and look back at the road I had travelled, like someone who remembers the steps he has taken in life.

Many walks give me a chance to find myself, to reflect and think without the hustle and bustle of the city, and this was one of those special walks.

The sun seemed to rest its reflection in the calm sea, in a mirror where light can multiply.

Occasionally I found some green, rustic plants that provided some shade on some of the benches.

20231024_154107.jpg

Other times I came across openings in the railings and paths that led down to the rocks that served as shore. Every step every new landscape.

20231024_154430.jpg

There were also a lot of palm trees and they have their companions so they don't do these walks alone. The contrast with the blue sky is wonderful.

20231024_154521.jpg

This is the lowest path that leads to a remote beach so I look up, but there are others higher up.

20231024_154433.jpg

I look back at the end of my long walk, a long way in the middle of nature, the silence, the peace, the thoughts and reflections I carried inside me.

And now I was much further away from civilisation, only the palm trees, the rocks, the path, the sea and me.

Nature walks are the most wonderful, because it is in those moments that one realises how connected we are to nature.

Thank you for joining me on this Wednesday walk.
Best wishes to all of you and see you next time.
Amonet.

All photographs are my own.
