"The maturity of man is to have found again the seriousness with which he played when he was a child."
-Friedrich Nietzsche
I have always loved children, they represent purity, true knowledge and the strongest connection to truth and joy.
I don't have children of my own, life didn't want it that way. But what they mean to me is still there.
When I read this topic that Galen proposed to us, I kept thinking and felt it calling me.
I asked myself what I would do if I had three children to entertain for a weekend. I was excited to imagine that situation and I think that's why I chose this topic.
In addition to the education at school, which takes place during the week, and the regular education that takes place during every moment by the parents, children need recreation and fun.
Today's children are given a phone from an early age, they say, to entertain themselves and not to disturb, a tablet, or any electronic device.
What is really important has been lost, which is the development of the child's creativity and contact with games, with real games and contact with nature. And, of course, sociability, playing with other children, learning to share, learning that there are equals and differences, learning respect.
This should be taught from an early age and can be done perfectly well while they entertain themselves by playing, for example.
What I would specifically do is to combine outings, games, nature.
A walk on the beach, let them touch the sand and grass with their little feet. Let them feel the warm water, play with it, nourish themselves with its energy and benefits.
Playing with them running in the sand or looking for a specific place such as games in beach parks or places specially prepared for children, ball games, building sand castles.
Let them touch the earth, feel at one with it. Nowadays this beautiful game has been lost in some children.
Let them swim and have fun in floating castles like the one in the picture.
If they don't like the water or the beach, then take them to one or more of the many children's parks in the city with many games, have a picnic there, chat with them.
They can play and socialise with other children who are playing there.
On the other hand, I would take them to visit large gardens and parks where, in addition to games, there are animals such as ducks, swans, turtles, among others, not to mention the large amount of vegetation.
They can combine fun, games, joy and contact with nature, and learn the importance of plants, animals and the rest of human beings by playing.
Another interesting place would be those very similar to forests, where there are many trees to play hide and seek, spend good times in the shade, reading a storybook, tasting a sweet and above all listening to them.
It is very important to listen to them from an early age, to build their confidence and the fact that they do not repress their emotions, that they can and know how to talk, express themselves, cry or laugh, whatever they need.
There is nothing more beautiful than listening to children's laughter, and when they have fun, play, share, that laughter is genuine and that feeds the hearts, not only of themselves, but also of adults. It's a great energy that expands.
It is vitally important for children to grow up healthy, and by that I don't just mean the body but mainly the mind. Healthy mind, healthy body.
Recreation, play, contact with the earth, water, fresh air, animals, make a child healthy in mind and body. And as I said before, let them laugh, laugh a lot.
That they feel the love of their family, a big hug, that they feel contained, protected and that they are given the tools for life. Within them is all of the above that I have mentioned.
If you like, you can leave me a comment telling me what you would do to entertain the kids at the weekend. I will be happy to read them and of course I will respond.
Thank you @galenkp for proposing such wonderful topics every weekend and especially this one. Thank you very much.
I send you all a big hello and see you next time. Thank you for watching and reading this far.
