A sunny day, ideal for a stroll and to distract the eye and the mind for a while.
I was looking forward to seeing art, architecture and design.
It looked like it was going to be a stroll through contemporary and traditional art, but as I walked up some stairs, from a small exhibition hall to a hall, I found something totally new and beautiful.
I always say that the city surprises me at every turn and this time was no exception.
I was accompanied by my friend, she is a dressmaker and a very good one. She knows a lot about fabrics and sewing and things like that... which I don't, so I always listen to her attentively.
When we saw what was there when we got to the aisles of that place, we were filled with surprise.
It was indeed an exhibition, but not an ordinary or rather classical one, but an exhibition of dresses.
The exhibition is called IMPRESSIVE, but with the last E turned upside down... oddities of us artists. And the artist's name is Elvira Cano.
When I saw the first dress and the room full of them I was impressed, just like the name of the exhibition.
I went over to see what fabric it was, of course I don't understand fabrics, but my friend did and I could see her eyes full of happiness and surprise at seeing this exhibition.
Every now and then, on the walls there were photographs of women modelling these dresses.
And small posters gave information about the exhibition and the way in which these works of art were made.
Because yes, as well as being dresses, they are art, because the way they are made is not at all usual.
Look at the details, the ensembles, for example, in this case, the ensemble is beautiful.
Then there were little figures or mannequins with super small and adorable sample dresses like these.
Others really looked like party dresses, or dresses for a very special occasion.
Some short, some long, some two-piece, all very fine and beautiful. Something out of this world.
I had never seen anything like it. I was curious to know how they were made and I went to see the smallest details.
All the dresses had a different design, all very sophisticated and beautiful. They didn't look like dresses for shopping in the supermarket.
The photographs with the models gave a clear idea of how the dresses would look and how beautiful they are.
There were also other decorations made with that kind of fabric, I thought it was fabric, then reading the posters I realised it was not. Surprising. And I leave you with the unknown until the end.
Another dress, in this case black and very elegant.
There were also some accessories like this bag, by the way, also very rare but original.
A display case showed very beautiful patterns for the dresses.
I don't know if this type of dress is worn like this, but it is preferable to wear something underneath, don't you think?
When I turned around, because the place where the show is held is in the shape of an L, I found more dresses, even more beautiful.
This outfit is beautiful and the trousers have mirrors underneath. A marvel.
Each model very original and one more beautiful than the other. I don't really know if I would wear these dresses this way, but maybe with something underneath. It is very transparent.
Further on, another display case showed a jacket, I think, made of leather, with some unusual golden applications and decorations.
I'm sure you're wondering how all this is made, all these pretty dresses.
At the end of the aisle I saw what I thought was the most beautiful thing of all. It seemed to be a golden dress, also like leather, but you'll see it's not leather.
Another jacket, but seen from the back, I was impressed by the patterns, the design, the style. Total beauty.
The models seem to fit the garments very well, but if you pay attention, they are wearing something black underneath. I imagined that it can't be worn just like that.
And by now you're probably wondering what it said on the posters at the show. Well, these dresses mix modern technology and tradition.
They are based on geometric shapes from various mosaics of the Alhambra, that is to say, they are drawings called Nasrids, with a lot of transparency, but they are also works of art.
They are made on 3D printers, which is why my friend looked at them and told me that they had no seams, how was that possible?
So I suppose that they are less polluting than those traditionally made in the textile industry and also the materials are used, absolutely nothing is wasted.
3D printers are very modern, but I never thought you could make dresses with them. I guess this makes it possible to make personalised and exclusive designs.
What I don't know for sure is whether these dresses are made on a large scale.
Let's say it could be another option for clothing, what do you think about wearing one of these little dresses?
I really liked that everything was well explained next to each garment, and that the walk through the dresses was so modern, new and pleasing to the eye.
It was a pleasure to bring you this artistic Wednesday walk. Best regards to all of you and see you next time.
Amonet.
