Information is everything, and everything we do is dependent on it. Information is power and carries so much significance and adds value to our lives.
I used to be obsessed with knowing everything, not obsessed per say but, the thought of not knowing something used to make me feel unsafe, like I was missing something and had to get it. Because of this I absorbed lots of information. I would read everything under the sun as long as I had access to it; that was where my reading habits sprung from.
While it is pertinent to stay informed by constantly educating ourselves , it is also important to learn to filter the kind of information we absorb and act on.
I say filter and not censor because to censorship takes away a person’s right to knowledge and choice to react to the information learned.
Everything we do depends on information. What? Who? Where? When? Our whole lives depend on the circulation and assimilation of varied information inspired by our many differences.
When it comes to financial information, I say know it all. Obviously, it is not possible to know everything, but I try to know something about everything. Information is what informs our actions, our beliefs, our personalities and perception of life.
Knowledge is the gateway to freedom and wisdom is the welcoming and application of knowledge. To make good or bad financial decisions, one ought to have or lack the right information, and how can you tell which one is right and wrong if you haven’t been exposed to both ends of the spectrum.
To make sound financial decision, you have to be aware of the unsound ones. To make good calls on investment opportunities, you have to know which ones aren’t worth it. Sometimes we are confused on which way is the right way, because outcomes often depend on uncertain market conditions. However, confusion is a good thing, because that is your mind trying to filter through information to figure out which one is best suiting to the fate of your finances.
It is always better and safer to know too much regardless of the usefulness of those information to you, than to know lesser than required in a certain context.
Being a member of the Leoverse exposes me to tons of financial information everyday, and I do my best to read as much as I can. Sometimes I find myself reading a post and I go: ‘this doesn’t concern you and probably never will’, but I still go on because I’m curious about everything.
There are a lot of things I don’t yet understand about cryptocurrency and decentralized finance, but I still absorb these information when they roll out because I just want to know what’s being communicated.
From there, my curiosity gets triggered to want to try this things I’ve read about, and just like that, a new knowledge, a potential potent financial venture gets unlocked.
Wisdom is profitable but, there is no wisdom without the knowledge of foolishness. So, let’s stay informed.
