What is a salad? When I was growing up I knew a salad, I grew up into a different food culture and starting learning about other salads. Basically, it is a bunch of vegetables pit against each other to try and supply the human body with a fair of amount of vitamins, enzymes and other nourishment. Thing is I'm not sure whether to call this a salad, but here we go.
Hi friends, welcome again to my tasty corner.
Just a little disclaimer here: I am not a good cook, not that you thought I was one but this is my second food post in a row and I just don’t want anyone getting any ideas or coming to propose marriage to me because I can cook, no please. My forte in the kitchen is running experiments, basically. If I can’t play around with it then I don’t want it.
For me there are no rules to cooking, no rules to what you should combine and what taste better with what, as long as you’re careful not to make yourself sick then you’re good. Our taste pallets are limitless and there’ll always be room for something new.
Anyways, I decided to cook some vegetables together to make a salad or whatever. The green beans and pepper were going to go bad any minute so I decided to save them.
I wasn’t sure what to call this as I had never seen or eaten it before I call it the RED SALAD.
INGREDIENTS:
I started by washing, cutting and shredding my vegetables. I cut the cucumbers, green beans, onions and I shredded the beetroot.
Next up I heated up a pan with a little bit of vegetable oil and basically threw in all the green stuff and gave it a nice stir fry. I gave a the Irish potatoes a little frying separately before adding them, then the beetroot.
This was my first time eating and working with beetroot and I loved it; I’ll also be eating more of it. I love what it did with the colour though, made my good look so bold and sassy. I added some little salt, black pepper, and a cube seasoning to make it more interesting.
I served with this plate of vegetables with some white rice and and chicken stew to go.
It was delish and my family loved it.
