Good evening guys, wish you enjoy my post of the Thai Hot Pot and the Night market last night. I am going to show you one of the famous place for the visitors in Shenzhen tonight: Dongmen Old Street (old district).

I didn't visit Dongmen for 6/7 years even there's no COVID outbreak as I am living in other district where is not closed to Dongmen. Dongmen is kinda special location for both local Chinese in Shenzhen and the visitors from Hong Kong.

For the local Chinese in Shenzhen, the most attractive thing must be the snacks, there are nearly hundreds of stalls selling different style of snacks, We can say the stalls in Dongmen as the day and night market out there, you can see the street is always busy no matter day or night, weekday or weekend.

For the visitors of Hong Kong, it's a paradise of... buying the fake luxury bag or pirate movie disc (DVD, Blur Ray Disc) Well, we don't encourage people buying the fake luxury brand of the bag nor pirate movie dish, so I am not going to show you guys such places, I just let you have idea how the Dongmen looks like.

My purpose to visiting Dongmen is for the snack for sure, I haven't visit there for years, I can't tell how bad I miss the street, actually I miss the snack out there 😉

Oyster omelet is the snack I love the best in Dongmen, there are not much stalls selling this snack, maybe it takes time to make that, people wants quick money there, so you can only see one or two stall(s) selling oyster omelet.

Usually you have to eat the snack on the street as there is only little table and seats around, but my wife doesn't like I eat while I am walking around, so we tried to see if there is any snack shop got table and seat so we can sit down and take our time for the snacks.

Thank god we found one shop which is selling the HK style snack, well, a pure HK Chinese having HK style snacks in Shenzhen, sounds funny huh? Just like an American having McDonald when he or she is visiting in Japan.

Anyway, our purpose was for the table and seats, so we didn't care about what we were going to eat. I just couldn't wait to enjoy my oyster omelet and the steamed vermicelli roll, I left the rest to my wife.

Phew, what a delicious snacks, we moved to the other section of the Dongmen after we have done for the snacks, sounds Dongmen has no change in the past years, everything nearly look the same backward to 6/7 years ago. I tried not to get too close to capture the street view so I could capture more views in the pictures.

In fact, I am regret not taking more pictures there, I would able to look at them to imagine I am visiting there at this difficult periods if I did.

I have no idea how long I have to wait for my next visit in Shenzhen as there is no schedule on the border reopen between Hong Kong and China, so these pictures really help to relief me when I think about of my wife and Shenzhen.
